Notes
“No. D-9--Glenmary, Radnor, Dating From 18th Century / The end at the left has a 1792 datestone. When the Shakesperian scholar Prof. / Albert H. Smyth lived here nearly 60 years ago, he noted that an older part (not rec- / ognizable now but pictured in old photos) was built about 1700. He wrote of it, ‘Tradi- / tionally it was a farmhouse that was visited by Washington. It has, like all well-es- / tablished old houses, a familiar ghost--the ghost of a drover who is said to have been / murdered here, and who still at midnight walks the floors.’ the rest of the building is / modern, except for the spring house, not seen in photo. Nearby Glenmary Rd. gets its / name from the estate. The property is now called Bolingbroke and is the home of / Roy J. McKee.” For other information, see the notes for 2007.055.001.
