Tag: E. Lancaster Ave. – Villa Florenza Cabin – Lost

Built: ca. 1910-1911

From a newspaper account published in the Boston Globe and various other newspapers in February and March, 1911: “Dr. G.L.S. Jameson has erected on his large lawn at St. Davids, a suburb of Philadelphia, a log cabin which is a replica of one in the Maine forests where he spends his summers. The cabin is built of spruce and fir logs cut down in the Maine woods under his supervision. The two guides who accompany Dr. Jameson on his hunting trips built the cabin. Several of Dr. Jameson’s friends in neighboring towns are so impressed with the novelty that they intend to build similar cabins for themselves.”
